Moto Guzzi California 90 Anniversary Custom Café Racer 2012
Dear reader, meet Betty.
Betty was conceived to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the legendary Moto Guzzi motorcycle manufacturer, the longest continously running European producer of two-wheelers. Betty happens to be the last in a 40-year long history of California models, some of the best Moto Guzzi have ever crafted.
Sculpted by hand at the historic factory grounds in Mandello del Lario, special attention was paid in keeping to the lines classic roots while modernizing for comfort, performance and safety.
Betty features Moto Guzzi's signature 1064cc V-twin engine - a powerplant known for its torque and renowned reliability, paired with a host of Italian sourced performance parts. These include a fully adjustable suspension, Brembo brakes at either end and the famous Lafranconi exhausts.
As one of only two California 90's imported brand new into Malaysia, Betty has seen only one companion since production in 2012. She has served him well, performing admirably as a cruiser on two trips to Thailand, a trip to Penang and other shorter weekend rides.
Sporting the legendary Tonti frame, Betty's owner relays how the attraction of converting her to a café racer was too strong to let go. After much mulling over, Betty underwent a no expense spared transformation in 2017. Among the changes include a new tank sourced from a US pre-facelift V7, pegs and gear linkage from France and a seat sourced from Italy. Everything was professionally installed using original fasteners and screws.
Now, Betty sits low slung and ready to pounce. Her voice is glorious in her new 2-1 exhaust.
Betty is looking for a new home as her owner no longer rides.
All original parts from before the café racer transformation will be supplied together with Betty.
